(Lagrange, GA) — Troup Baptist Association will host a community-wide event on prayer and spiritual renewal entitled: Fresh Encounter.

Led by Claude King, co-author with Henry Blackaby, of the best-selling book “Experiencing God: Experiencing God’s Power for Spiritual Awakening,” the workshop will be offered twice Sept. 22 and 23.

“In the Old Testament, when Israel turned away from God, the religious leaders called for a solemn assembly of the people for fasting, prayer, confession of sin and repentance. In the process, they experienced personal and corporate spiritual realignment with God,” said Aaron McCollough, director of Troup Baptist Association.

The workshop is free and will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22 and again from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The evening session will be an abbreviated version of Tuesday’s day-long session. Both workshops will be held at Troup Baptist Association, 1301 Washington St.

There will not be a lunch served on Tuesday, with participants “fasting” during the lunch hour. However, there will be snacks available for those with medical conditions that prevent them from fasting.

To reserve a place, contact the association at dottie@troupbaptist.com or at 706-884-1975.
