Constitution Day At Ephesus Elementary

Constitution Day was a special day for the kindergarten class of Ephesus Elementary. The boys and girls were excited to learn about the United States Constitution and the men who fought for our freedom.

We would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Paige Harrod for sharing her traditional family story of a relative fighting in the Revolutionary War, Mr. Charles Word.

The students also had the opportunity to listen to Mrs. Debbie share her story of her family member, Mr. Allen Gay from Newnan, GA. Mr. Gay was recognized by the local DAR’s for his service in the Revolutionary War.

These interesting stories led us to the discussion of Mr. Stephen Heard for whom Heard County was named.

The charming lesson was presented as a Power Point displayed on the Smart Board. To end this actively engaging lesson,  Mrs. Debbie and Mrs. Donna’s classes created their own constitution entitled,  “We the People of the Ephesus Kindergarten do…”
