(Centralhatchee) — Town of Centralhatchee incumbent council member Jimmy Adams has dropped out of the City Council race meaning a November election will now be unnecessary.

Six candidates had qualified for the five positions during the official early September qualifying period.

The council will welcome two new members in 2016, Julia R. Hand and Emmett Jackson in addition to incumbents Eley Loftin, Barbara Norwood, and Walt Wiggins.

Incumbent councilman, Tonnie Adams, is now the Heard County Chief Voter Registrar and was legally unable to seek another term.
