UPDATED: Driver identified in Coweta Hit-and-Run

UPDATE: Police have identified a driver in the hit-and-run collision that killed a 13-year-old Coweta County boy Monday night.

Cody Landry, 17, along with his mother went to the Coweta County sheriff’s office Tuesday after hearing reports of the incident.

Landry said he thought he’d hit a deer.Investigators examined his 2005 white Ford F-150 truck and the debris at the scene and connected the vehicle to the collision.

The investigation is continuing.

(Coweta County, GA) — Authorities with the Georgia State Patrol and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the driver in a hit and run case where a Coweta County teen was killed late Monday night.

Investigators believe 13-year-old Parker Madliak was hit and killed around 9:30 p.m. Monday evening by a driver who kept going.

Madliak’s body was found on the roadside along Welcome Sargent Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning after the boy never made it home after walking home from a friend’s house after 9:00 p.m.

The Evans Middle School student was last seen on security cameras from a nearby convenience store at 9:27 p.m., just a short distance from where he was found.

Authorities have interviewed a person of interest in the case but have not named a suspect and are still looking for a 2004-2008 Ford F-150 with damage to the right, front headlight on the passenger side.
