(Franklin, GA) — The James Stewart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization, and there is no better service that they can do than honor our youth, for they are the future.

On the 11th of May, members of the James Stewart Chapter attended the Heard County High School Band Awards Banquet to honor two young men for their outstanding patriotic service to our Heard County veterans.

“At the chapter’s 2017 DAR Veterans Day program, these two young men played a tandem rendition of taps that brought tears to the eyes of all in attendance. They will never know how many hearts they touched that day,” said Regent Brown as she made the presentation to J.D. Blakely and Jesse Workman.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is made up of women from around the globe who have proven their lineage to those brave men and women who were patriots in the American Revolution.

The DAR’s motto is God, Home, and Country and their objects are Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism.

The James Stewart Chapter NSDAR is pleased to be able to honor these young men for their outstanding contribution to our 2017 Veterans Day Program.
