(Franklin, GA) — Deputy Danny Davis of the Heard County Sheriff’s Office has retired after over eight years of service to the department and the citizens of Heard County.

Deputy Davis began his law enforcement career with the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office in 1985. After being employed there for several years, Danny left law enforcement for a period of time.

He was hired by Sheriff Ross Henry and worked in various positions within the Sheriff’s Office including detention officer, patrol division and courthouse security.

On Friday, December 30, Sheriff Henry and staff held a retirement luncheon in honor of Deputy Davis where he was honored by his family, friends and fellow co-workers.

“It is a bittersweet moment seeing Danny retire. I speak for my staff when I say that we are sad to see Danny leave us but we are so proud for him and wish him the very best during his retirement”, stated Heard County Sheriff Ross Henry.

Henry went on to thank Davis for his service to the department and to the community.

“I would like to thank Deputy Danny Davis for his many years of dedicated service not only to the Sheriff’s Office, but to the Courthouse staff and the citizens of Heard County,” said Sheriff Henry.

“I also want to thank his wife, Joy, and their family for their patience and support throughout the years. Being employed in law enforcement means that at times our families are sometimes without us on special occasions and holidays. I speak on behalf of the entire Sheriff’s Office when I say that we will miss Danny and he will always be a part of our family.”
