Elections Office Taking Precautions with COVID-19

(Franklin, GA) — The coronavirus is on everyone’s mind and in the news. The Elections Office encourages anyone that is concerned about being in public during this time to consider applying for an absentee ballot.

A voter may call the Elections Office at 706-675-3907 to request an application. Anyone may also download the absentee application from the Elections Office web page at http://www.heardcountyga.com/voterReg.html

The application must be printed, signed and returned to the Elections Office. See the contact information at the end of this article.

The Elections Office is also taking precautions at the precinct sites for Election Day. Hand sanitizer will be available at the polls.

In addition, poll workers will routinely clean all surfaces with alcohol-based wipes.

If you are sick, the Elections Office encourages you to apply for your absentee ballot as soon as possible. Any voter’s relative may also apply for an absentee ballot for the voter at the Elections Office.

The Elections Office wants everyone to exercise their right to vote while being conscious of their health and the health of others.
