(Newnan, GA) — Elim Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

Evangelist, Dr. Steve Stewart will bring the message for the Sunday Homecoming worship service and for Elim’s Revival. Revival starts at 7:00 p.m. each night, August 4-6. Everyone come ready to receive a blessing!

Dr. Steve Stewart received his Bachelors degree in 1984 from Immanuel Bible College and his Master of Divinity degree in 1987 from Mid-America Seminary in Memphis, Tenn. Steve also holds a Doctor of Theology degree from Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary.

For 18 years Steve was the pastor of the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin Georgia. During that time, the church grew from an average of 70 to over 3000 members. They also completely relocated to a 40 acre campus and built a number of new buildings. The latest being a 2000 seat worship center, music suite, and children’s educational building.

During his 18 years, the church was in the top 20 churches in baptisms out of 4200 churches in Georgia. The facilities are valued at 18 million dollars. The church experienced explosive growth under his leadership. More than 2000 people were baptized in those 18 years.

He resigned Oak Hill Church in January 2011 to become the full-time academic dean of admissions at Immanuel Seminary. He also serves as the executive vice president.
