(Franklin) — The Heard Senior Activity Center held their 3rd annual Senior Citizen Prom on June 27th, 2014.
Bonnie Camp was crowned the 2014 Prom Queen by the 2013 Queen, Barbara Ennis and Ken Hoopaugh was crowned 2014 Prom King by 2013 King, Jerry Ennis. The King and Queen are chosen by their fellow center members.
The theme this year was the Fabulous 50’s. It was a great success. Several people were dressed in Poodle skirts, some people had rolled –up jeans, bobbie socks, and of course, men in white tee shirts with rolled up sleeves.
Most everyone had their picture made in front of a 1955 Chevy that Center member, Harry Barber, drove to the affair. The Center was decorated to fit the occasion. Plenty of good food was served and our DJ played 50’s music. Everyone had a great time eating, talking, and dancing.
Professional wrestler, Chick Donovan, surprised everyone when he came to the Prom. He danced with several of the ladies.
“We had a great turn out and I would like to extend a special thanks to my wonderful staff, it was the best Senior Prom yet,” said Senior Center Director Terri Kidd. “We are looking forward to next year already!”
