Filling Station Museum open for Winterfest

(Franklin) — The 1932 Gulf Filling Station Museum will be open from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, December 8th during the Winterfest celebration in Franklin.

In addition to station t-shirts, Chattahoochee River Books, Oracle of the Ages (Mayhayley Lancaster) books, and if you donate $1 you can have Heard County Deed Book 1 (1894-1898) and Book 2 (1894 through 1901).

These deed books were abstracted and compiled by Freida Reid Turner for the Heard County Historical Society.

Currently on display in the museum are authentic and replica Native American items.

Baskets, pottery, dance sticks, a “talking feather,” mortar and grinding stone, dolls and many more objects are featured.

Usual hours at the station are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
