Fire authorities seek representatives of “Sword of the Lord Ministries” after Wednesday house fire

On Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 5:47 a.m. Heard County Fire & Emergency Services were dispatched to a structure fire at 6431 Georgia Highway 219.

Apparatus and personnel responded from Station 1, Station 6, and Station 9. The first unit arrived at 5:54 a.m. and reported heavy smoke and fire with 80 to 90 percent of the structure involved.

Authorities are seeking representatives of the listed owners of this burned house on HWY 219

There were no occupants at the house, which was confirmed by a search from firefighters. The structure and contents were extensively damaged. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire around 10:50 a.m.

The owner of record for the structure is listed as “Sword of the Lord Ministries.” At this time the Heard County Fire Department is still trying to make contact with a representative of the owner.

The initial fire investigation determined the cause of the fire to be from energized electrical equipment due to a lightning strike.

Information gathered from the National Weather Service confirmed that there was lightning in the area prior to the fire.
