Fire destroys Rock Mills home

557ae5afe2912.image(Randolph County, AL) — A fire that began between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Thursday destroyed the home of Adam and Megan Calhoun and their three children.

A cause has not been determined. The home is located at 69936 Hwy. 22, east of Rock Mills.

Adam was not at home at the time. According to Adam’s father, Steve Calhoun, Megan was awakened by squawking of the family’s pet bird. She was able to get her children out safely, but the bird perished in the fire.

Anyone who would like to help the family immediately may donate clothes, which can be dropped off at the home Sandra Calhoun at 1627 County Road 17.

Bella, age 5 girl, wears 5T clothes and size 12 shoes.

Landon, age 7 boy, wears size 7-8 clothes and size 2 shoes.

Megan, age 24, wears 13-15 jeans, medium/large (11-13) shirts and 9 1/2 shoes.

Adam, age 34, wears 32-34, 34 pants, XL shirt and 10 1/2 shoes.
