Franklin Housing Authority announces changes in office operations

(Franklin, GA) — HUD’s Atlanta Field office advised Franklin Housing Authority this week to implement measures aimed at mitigating the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

As a result, Franklin Housing Authority has restricted our contact with the public and our residents. The office remains open but our doors are locked and we are not conducting business in person.

We are fully able to communicate by phone, email, and through the glass doors at the front.

Our maintenance department is deferring all non-critical work orders until the risk of exposure to, and transmission of the virus has passed. We will record all the work orders that are phoned in during this time so that they may get serviced when normal operations resume.

Wednesday, the World Health Organizaton announced that they had classified COVID-19 as a global pandemic.

With almost 70 percent of our resident population comprised of those at high risk of mortality should they contract the virus, our priority must be to protect them, as well as our employees.

With these dynamics in play, we feel that the best way to prevent the spread of this virus is to limit contact with others.

Please feel free to call Beth Burgoon at 706-675-6060 if you have questions or would like to discuss this further.
