(Franklin, GA) — On August 1 and 2, volunteers from First Baptist Church launched ‘Operation: Franklin.’

One of the project’s goal was to beautify the yards of Franklin Housing Authority residents by planting mulch, removing old lawn furniture and equipment, and helping in whatever small yard projects residents might have.

The Housing Authority provided the mulch, as well as the help of three of the staff, and the Church provided the helping hands of at least a dozen volunteers. The project was a resounding success.

At the conclusion of the work, the Authority asked the volunteers to serve as our Yard of the Month Committee for August 2019 and the Committee selected June Dorminey of South River Road (pictured with Church volunteers and her granddaughter) as the Housing Authority Yard of the Month.

The Housing Authority would like to extend its sincere thanks to First Baptist Church and all the volunteers who gave their time to make ‘Operation: Franklin’ possible.
