(Franklin) — Friends and family gathered on Wednesday September 29, 2015 at the Community Center on Franklin Parkway to celebrate the retirement of Franklin Police Officer Robert Cameron.

Chief Hannah thanked Officer Cameron for his eleven years of loyal and dedicated service to Franklin.

Hannah stated, “Cameron is more than a co-worker; we are all like family here. Family is about being able to lift you up at your worst moments and that is what kind of environment Franklin Police Department has. It has been a pleasure serving with you and you will be missed.”

Mayor Rogers thanked Officer Cameron for his service to the City of Franklin.

Officer Cameron was presented with a engraved plaque with an added personal touch of his police badge that he wore proudly for his many years of service.

A luncheon was served in Cameron’s honor giving family and friends the opportunity to say thank you for a job well done.

When asked about his plans after retirement, Cameron stated, “I plan to do a little traveling as well as complete a long to-do list my wife has given me.”

Cameron also stated, “It was Lieutenant Brooks who made this all possible for me today. When I joined the police department I worked for Chief Robert Tucker and was let go in April 2002. It was Lieutenant Brooks who hired me back on March 30, 2005 and I appreciate all that he has done for me.”

Officer Cameron’s  last day of service was September 28, 2015. He will be missed by the Franklin community.
