Franklin Walking Trail reopens to public

(Franklin, GA) — The City of Franklin walking trail from the public restrooms and playground, located near the Franklin Police Department to Three Rivers Regional Commission was reopened a short time ago.

City Maintenance Supervisor Edward Ponder announced that the trail is now safe for travel, although lots of work remains between the Chattahoochee River and walking trail caused by the recent tornado.

The clearing of the walking trail in a short amount of time, considering the amount of damage was made possible thanks to assistance provided by Rivers Edge Water Jet Technologies and several other volunteers from the community.

The City of Franklin continues working closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, so that the remaining trees can be removed.
