Georgia Holiday Traffic Death Toll climbs to 20

(Atlanta, GA) — As of 10:00 AM Sunday morning, the Georgia Department of Public safety is reporting 20 fatalities on Georgia roads so far during the 102-hour Thanksgiving 2020 travel period.

With 14 hours still remaining in the 102 hour period, the state has already recorded more fatalities than during the entire Thanksgiving 2019 travel period.

In 2019, 12 people died in traffic accidents over the full 102 hour travel period.

None of the 20 fatalities recorded this week are believed to have taken place in the West Georgia area.
