New Ephesus City Council Member Ray Gosdin

(Ephesus) — The City of Ephesus held a Special Election on March 17, 2015 for the replacement of Ephesus City Council Member Wayne Prince.

Prince, who passed away on December 27, 2014, was a life-long resident of Ephesus and contributed greatly to the betterment of the community. He was a Charter member of the Ephesus City Council which he served on for over 50 years.

The winner of the Special Election for Councilman Post 3 was Ray Gosdin with 51 votes. Gosdin will finish out the remainder of the term through December 31, 2015. The seat will once again be up for vote in the upcoming election in November.

Finishing second in the election was Ralph Cates with 28 votes, and in third place was Greg Janney with 14 votes.

In addition to Ray Gosdin, the current Ephesus City Council consists of Mayor Denny Rogers, City Recorder Daniel Harrod, and Council Members Paul Gosdin, Donna Henderson, Tony Rogers, and Aubin Cumbie.

Ephesus City Council meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
