Granger Scores 31 to down Braves

The Lagrange Grangers came to Heard High School Tuesday night and walked away with an 82-52 victory thanks mostly to the hot long-range shooting from Jake Pauley who made eight 3-pointers.

Pauley ended up with 31 total points on the night. The Braves got off to a quick start when Damon Pearson and Ben Cole launched 3-pointers to go up 6-0, but the more experienced Granger squad then began to dominate for the rest of the night.

Leading the Braves in scoring was Cole with 13 points followed by Pearson with 12, Duranta Dunson with 9, and Jonathan Hunt with 8.

The Braves (0-4) will once again try to break into the win column this Friday when they host the Troup Tigers (7:30).

In a battle of unbeatens the Lady Braves also suffered their first defeat of the year to the Lady Grangers 50-37.

The Lady Braves (3-1) fought back from a double-digit first half deficit and closed the gap to four points late in the third but never got any closer.

The Lady Grangers (4-0) were led by Brittany Tatum who had 24 points. Top scorers for the Braves were Senior Aaliyah Rutledge with 14 and Reece Walker with 10.

The Lady Braves also return to the court Friday night vs. Troup.

In the most exciting game of the night the Braves JV squad fell by just two points to the Grangers 46-44. Levi Brown scored 12 points and Elijah Toney added 11 for the JV Braves.
