Hardy, Singleton, and Wynn to wrestle at Gwinnett Arena

Coach Justin Ransom took twelve wrestlers to sectionals Friday and Saturday at Blessed Trinity High School.The top eight finishers in each weight class would advance to the state meet.

After the dust had settled from the long two day event three Braves seniors qualified to compete in the GHSA State Finals which will take place this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, GA.

The highest Brave finisher was Blake Hardy who finished in sixth place in the 160-pound weight class. Blake knocked off Forrest Bell of Lovett High School and Dustin Chapman of Gordon Central in his first two matches.

Chapman got some payback later on Hardy when they wrestled again for the fifth place prize. Hardy is mathced up with Daivon Ledford of Jackson in the first round at the arena.

In the 170-pound weight class, Tyler Wynn finished in seventh place to advance. Tyler was ousted by Dalton Duriez of Greater Atlanta Christian in the sixth place match. Tyler will battle Xavier Home in round one at state.

Bill Singleton just made the cut in the 132-pound weight class when he snapped up the eighth place finish. he will face a tough challenge in his opening state bout with Isaac Kelly of wrestling power Jefferson.

Heavyweight Taron Person qualified as a state alternate. The guys will get a chance to compete on the big stage at the arena in the event which will feature wrestlers from all over the state in all classifications. WSB-TV will air the final rounds of the tournament on Saturday.
