HCMS Tomahawk Talk (10/28/14)

HCMS Pic(Franklin) — I wished I could be writing this article and talking about how proud I am of our team for winning a second consecutive football championship.

Unfortunately, we came up a little short of our goal last Thursday. It was not the ending that we wanted but I must say how proud I am of our team. I know in our day and time that success is gauged by how many games and how many championships that are won but sometimes things just don’t go your way.

I would like to say that we had one of the better runs of any middle school by winning 11 consecutive division games and 13 consecutive conference games. This can be attributed to the hard work that our players have been putting forth during the last two years.

I want to commend our players for battling each and every week and competing to the very end. I must say that it has been a pleasure coaching these young men and watching them grow up and mature in front of our eyes.

Our coaches want to challenge each 8th grade football player to keep battling and take their skills on to the high school next year. Each of you are special and have the ability to play on Friday nights for many years to come.

In the coming years, you may be asked to play somewhere you don’t want to play or have never played in order to help your team. If you are asked to do that, don’t be afraid of a position change just jump out there and ball your tail off.

Don’t be afraid of competition because competition is what makes people better. You are not guaranteed anything in life but success comes to those who work hard.

Basketball and wrestling season is just around the corner with try-outs and practices beginning today. The schedules for the season will be posted soon and the weekly edition of Tomahawk Talk will keep you updated also. If you get a chance, come out and support our HCMS Braves.

“There may be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do”. – Derek Jeter (5 time MLB World Series Champion)

  1. Way to go HCMS Braves!!!!!

  2. Lol. All these people complaining/arguing about what clothese we can and can’t wear. And I’m just sitting here wondering why I still can’t walk down the hall with a metal ring in my face without getting sent to the office
