HCMS Top Reader Awards

(Franklin) — Two students recently earned more points than anyone else EVER in the history of HCMS in the Accelerated Reader Program.

Michael Payton earned 1,187.6 points with 94.2% reading comprehension and Marco Cheng earned 1,031.5 with 93.1%.

They are the first two students to be included in the 1000 Point Club. Michael is the 2013-2014 Top Reader in AR and Marco is 2nd Highest Reader in AR. Jayme Middleton, who earned 453.9 points (97.2%) is 3rd Highest Reader in AR.

This year, the Accelerated Reader Program has been optional for students and teachers. This year’s winners have been highly motivated to read and quiz in the program.

They read many non-fiction books and maintained high reading comprehension scores, even though the AR program was not mandatory this year.

Michael Payton earned the Top AR Reader award for 2013-2014, earning 1187.6 points with 94.2% comprehension.

Marco is 2nd Highest Top AR Reader with 1031.5 points and 93.1% comprehension. Jayme Middleton is 3rd Highest Top AR Reader, getting 453.9 points at 97.2% comprehension; she is the only member of the 400 Point Club this year. These students were recognized at the school’s award program.

The Top AR Reader will receive $100, 2nd Highest Top AR Reader will receive $50 and 3rd Highest Top AR Reader will receive $25 from the media book fair fund. Congratulations!
