(Atlanta, GA) — The Heard County Middle School wind ensemble had the honor of playing at the Georgia State Capitol Thursday morning.

The talented group along with director Jaime Barnard entertained many state officials and capitol employees including most notably District 97 State Representative and Education Chairman Brooks Coleman.

Coleman spent some time speaking to the kids about the importance of the arts and music while offering the young kids advice for the future.

Barnard was very pleased with the performance of her top music students who practiced for several weeks in anticipation of the special performance in the Capitol Rotunda.

“These guys just played so so good today,” said Barnard Thursday evening. “I am so very proud of the hard work they have each put in to this performance and I just want to thank Representative Coleman and other state officials for hosting us today.”
