Healing PTSD Stamp to be issued on December 2

(Franklin, GA) — The US Postal Service announced recently that a semipostal stamp will be issued on December 2 to help raise funds for those diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The Healing PTSD semipostal stamp features a photographic illusion of a green plant sprouting from the ground, which is covered in fallen leaves.

The image is intended to symbolize the PTSD healing process.

Tens of millions of Americans will experience PTSD in their lifetimes.

Researchers have determined that the condition develops in some children but mostly adults who have survived a traumatic event such as a natural disaster or a car accident.

Many of our county veterans previously suffered or continue to suffer from PTSD from their time in the service defending our freedoms.

The stamp will be sold for 65 cents.

By law, revenue from sales of the stamps – minus the postage and the reasonable costs incurred by the Postal Service – will be distributed to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Too bad our country doesn’t automatically help veterans and offer them wonderful psychiatric counseling and treatment like we should. Our VETERANS should receive counseling and treatment/healthcare before all others with the exception of children. But instead we leave them suicidal and homeless in the street…. It is appalling.
