Heard Chamber Of Commerce announces new President

(Franklin, GA) — The Heard County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce the addition of Melinda Brown as the new Chamber President.

Melinda is a Heard County resident and has been involved for several years in various local activities and organizations.

She will bring to the Chamber skills and experiences that focus on excellent customer service and strong organizational abilities.

Some of Melinda’s past education and work experience include: College-level training in Accounting and Computer Applications, employment with the State of Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts, owning and operating a small business in Franklin, serving as Secretary for the Heard County Cooperative Extension Office, and working in the medical billing industry and interacting with customers nationally.

Melinda has also volunteered her time and energy over the last 15 years with several local community groups.

Some of these efforts include: Secretary/Treasurer for the Franklin Head Start Parent Committee,Certified Shooting Sports Coach for the Heard County 4-H BB Team, Fundraising for the Heard County 4-H Club, and Secretary/Treasurer for the Heard County Cattleman’s Association.

Melinda will begin her duties immediately, and she will spend the next few weeks working closely with Renai Brock and Kathy Walker to ensure a smooth transition for the Chamber.

Renai and Kathy have been a great asset to the Chamber for the last couple of years, and their hard work and dedication will provide Melinda with a great starting point as we work to develop new initiatives that will be beneficial to all Chamber members.

In the near future, Melinda will ask to visit each of you personally to become acquainted and seek your input and advice on ways to improve the Chamber and provide services to help make your businesses or organizations prosperous.

We deeply appreciate your loyalty and support of the Chamber, and we look forward to great things in 2019.
