I am very excited to announce to the people of Heard County my candidacy for Commission Chairperson of Heard County. I am a 41-year-old graduate of Heard High School (Class of 1989) and I was born and raised right here in Heard County.
After spending 10 years employed in Store Projects and Development with the Eckerd Drugs Corporation I became self-employed in residential development as a Construction Superintendent working primarily in the Newnan/Coweta County area.
During the last two years I have observed and reported on our county commission meetings very closely for my website HeardCitizen.com and observed many things that can and should be improved.
If elected to serve as your next Commission Chairman, I will work hard to serve the needs of all Heard County citizens while operating the most open and transparent government in our history.

Nice to see so many people are trying to give June the boot! She needed to go in 2008. She really needs to go now. I agree we need transparent government. Not only here in Heard county, but across the nation. If we can get a commission chair now that feels that way and 5 commissioners that agree with that also we will be doing good!
I feel that you have the talent to help our community grow into something as our surrounding counties. We don’t have an interstate or railway but we do have Hwy 27. A four lane highway that many out of county people pass through every day. Yet we build government buildings and Recreation Center out in the middle of nowhere. If I was driving through the county as a passersby, all I would think of it is pine trees. I would think that there is nothing here, as most people do.
Should be an interesting race. I see that you have some stiff competition. Good luck!

Russ I don’t know much about you, other than what I read online. Lee Boone is going to get the comms chairman Job. There is only one thing well two that is going to knock you out of the Job. And I think you know what they are. I really believe you would do alright if you first tried to run for a district seat first and really see what all is involved with doing this job. People can say anything. when you have voted and made some decisions people can look at, that will tell how good a job you would do. There is a whole lot to the job that most people don’t take time to know about.
I agree you should be a district commissioner before having a chance of becoming a chair, but I know that is not one of the official requirements. It is just my opinion. Between June, Lee and Larry that is hard, well almost. I assume Lee would have survived the past election if he did not have to give up his chair. I guess nobody has a problem with him, but I am not a fan of what the board was when he was in it so I am not sold on him beacuse I do not want more of the same. Larry was in the chair before and got voted out. There must have been a reason, but that was before my time here in Heard Co. June ha. She has no chance to get a vote for me. Hopefully one of the guys gets the Republican nod. If Not I will for sure be voting for Russ. Reguardless I will consider voting for you Russ.
