Heard County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan PDMPC Meeting

(Franklin, GA) — The Local Governments of Heard County are pleased to announce the creation of the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Planning Committee (PDMPC).

The Committee is working in cooperation with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Plans & More, LLP Consulting Team to develop a Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan (PDMP) for Heard County and the Cities of Centralhatchee, Ephesus, and Franklin.

Our local communities received a GEMA PDM Grant and are providing local match resources to fund the planning process.

The Mitigation Strategies meeting and workshop to begin updating the Heard County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan (PDMP) is set for July 21, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Heard County Administration Building in the Commission Chamber, 201 Park Ave., Franklin, GA 30217.

The public is invited to attend.

The Committee invites participation from regional and local businesses, agencies, entities, and citizens.

The plan requires community input and involvement.
