(Athens, GA) — On November 16-17, the Heard High Chapter of FBLA attended the Georgia Fall Leadership Conference in Athens.

The Fall Leadership Conference provided leadership training for members and officers.

Each student attending the conference was assigned to a two-day leadership track that focused on development of personal and leadership skills needed by FBLA members.

In addition to the leadership tracks, students attended competitive event preparation sessions, the Monopoly Tournament and participated in the first annual FBLA Statesmen Award Recognition.

Students also attended the motivational general session where they met the FBLA state leadership team and learned more about the Georgia FBLA State Project.

The Heard High Chapter also donated a scholarship basket for the silent auction which funds scholarships for deserving FBLA members.

At the conclusion of the conference, students were awarded conference t-shirts for completing their leadership tracks.

Heard High FBLA officers attending the conference were Caitlin Shelnutt, president; Carmen Elrod, secretary; Avery Barnes, treasurer; and Marty Talley, service project chair.

Chapter adviser, Mrs. Angela Thompson, accompanied students and gave them a tour of the University of Georgia campus and Sanford stadium.
