The FBLA NLC Group being recognized at a recent Heard County Board of Education meeting
(Atlanta, GA) — On March 14-16, over 3,000 Future Business Leaders of America members and advisers gathered in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for exciting, informative, and inspiring sessions, workshops, and recognition!
In cooperation with TRI Leadership Resources, a nationally recognized leadership services firm, Georgia FBLA members and advisers experienced a powerful recognition and leadership program.
The Heard County High Chapter received the Chapter Honor Roll Award. The Heard High Chapter was also recognized for participating in the State Project: You’re Hired – Now What?? which involved classroom instruction on how to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the workplace.
Outstanding recognition goes to the following members for placing in competitive events:
Jeremiah Bishop, Tyler Cook, and Chris Shoemake placed 1st in Mobile App Development
Kayleigh Coker placed 3rd in Computer Applications
All these students will advance to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in June and were honored by the Heard County Board of Education.
Some highlights of the conference were workshops designed to focus on the development of personal and leadership skills needed by FBLA members, adviser best practices sharing sessions, competitive event preparation sessions, recognition of outstanding chapters and members, and the final Monopoly tournament to benefit March of Dimes.
The Heard High Chapter along with Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Widener wishes to thank Mr. Kay, Mr. Edwards, and Mr. Prince and the Board for their continued support of FBLA in their fundraising endeavors, conference schedule, and competitive testing.
