Heard FFA travels to Indiana to support former members

(Indianapolis, IN) — On October 23, 2018 Heard FFA members Chase Powell, Dallas Hand, Cameryn Phillips, Bailey Hefner, Marissa Hollingsworth, Abby Day, Megan Butler, and Kiera Burden along with FFA Advisor Cliff Collins traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 91st FFA National Convention.

They stayed for the week and returned late the night of October 27, 2018.

While in Indianapolis the members attended multiple workshops that included: It’s My Money and I Need it Now, Investigation Inclusion, National Teach Ag, and Fierce Leaders in Agriculture.

In addition the members attended multiple sessions listening to keynote speakers such as Kyle Scheele and the CEO of John Deere- Samuel R. Allen.

The highlight of the trip was the Garth Brooks concert in the Lucas Oil Stadium!

As Heard County FFA we went to support our former graduates receiving their American Degree (the highest award achievable in FFA).

We would like to congratulate Rachel Dyer, Cody Yates, and Luke Fomby. Rachel and Cody were able to attend the convention to participate in the American Degree Ceremony.

The Georgia FFA Association was recognized as a membership growth state. This marks the 20th consecutive year that the Georgia FFA has increased in FFA membership.

Georgia was represented in Indianapolis by 26 official voting delegates, and more than 1,500 local FFA members, advisors and Alumni from across the state.

More than 66,000 FFA members, advisors and guests attended the 91st National FFA Convention. The theme for the convention was Just One.
