HES student wins Heard County Spelling Bee

Michael Payton, an 11-year-old Heard Elementary School student won the county-wide spelling bee held recently by the Heard County School System.

Michael competed against students from all three elementary schools as well as the middle school. He will now go on to compete at the district spelling bee which will be held in Fort Valley, Ga on February 23, 2013.

The other participants who each won their school spelling bees included Jesse Workman from Ephesus Elementary, Jacorian Allen from Centralhatchee Elementary, and Chassidy McGowan from Heard County Middle School.
