HHS Faculty Member Awarded Grant

11018778_10155267722830088_5407778639413206785_n(Franklin) — Mr. Lee Burson, or Señor Burson as his students at Heard High School know him, was recently named as a 2015 recipient of the prestigious Alice Huffard Richards Teacher Leadership Fellowship Grant.

The Spanish teacher will receive a $5,000 grant on behalf of The Trustees of The Alice Huffard Richards Charitable Fund.

Before arriving at HHS, Burson grew up in Carrollton, GA and taught Spanish in the Carrollton city school system for 20 years.

He earned a B.A. from Baylor University, a Master’s degree from the State University of West Georgia, and a Specialist from Georgia State University.
