We are pleased to have as our speaker, Carla Smith, from West Point, GA. Mrs. Smith is an author, speaker and writer and will speak on her last book, ‘Parakeets in Whitesburg.’

This book is an epilogue to the 1948 murder in Coweta County; thus the book, ‘Murder in Coweta County,’ written by Margaret Anne Barnes.

‘Parakeets in Whitesburg’ shares the story of persons relating to a 1948 murder in Coweta County and life beyond the execution date of defendant John Wallace.

The crime investigation and trial held in Coweta County’s historic courthouse were the focus of the best-selling book “Murder in Coweta County” by Margaret Anne Barnes and a made-for-television movie starring Johnny Cash as Sheriff Lamar Potts and Andy Griffith as Meriwether County landowner John Wallace.

Smith has written a total of fourteen books.

Join us for an interesting meeting with refreshments to follow. Everyone invited. For questions call Sharon Frost, 770-301-8788.
