(Franklin, GA) — HHS faculty, staff, and students are eagerly preparing for the 2018 Heard County High School Graduation Friday night at Staples Stadium.

Final preparations have been ongoing this week to celebrate the special day for around 131 students expected to receive their diplomas and walk across that stage Friday night.

The 8:00 PM commencement exercises at the only high school in the county is one of the most attended events in the county each year, and school officials encourage those planning to attend to carpool if possible.

Gates will open at 6:30 PM and students and patrons are asked to park in designated zones at the school to help with traffic flow.

Graduates are asked to park in the lot behind the tennis courts while faculty members are encouraged to park directly in front of the main office adjacent to Franklin Parkway.

Handicap parking will be available next to the baseball field and the main school parking lots have been designated for general public parking. No one will be allowed to enter the school via the street near the Franklin City cemetery. (See parking map below)

School officials say there is no plan to move the ceremony indoors due to weather, but if necessary it could be delayed or postponed until Saturday morning.

Stay tuned to The Heard County High School Facebook page for updated information if the weather becomes a factor.

Those unable to attend the ceremony in person will be able to watch online via youtube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5VJ_Ps4DVI.
