Important Information for Heard County Voters

(Franklin, GA) — As the very busy 2020 election year approaches, the Elections and Registration Office wants everyone to be aware of changes to the election process and news affecting voter registration.

The Secretary of State is conducting maintenance on the list of registered voters that is required by federal and state law.

Some voters who have not voted or made any contact with the Elections and Registration Office for the last two General Elections (since 2015) may be removed from the voter list.

House Bill 316, which was passed earlier this year with bi-partisan support, included a provision that requires a final notice be sent to all voters on the list of voters to be removed.

IF YOU RECEIVE ONE OF THESE NOTICES IN THE MAIL, PLEASE FILL IT OUT AND RETURN IT TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE.

If you are unsure of your registration status, now is the best time to check. You may go to www.mvp.sos.ga.gov and enter your information.

You may also call the Elections and Registration Office at 706-675-3907.
