Important updated road closure information for South River Road residents

(Franklin, GA) — The City of Franklin previously issued a press release regarding the temporary closure of South River Road for a short period of time to complete some necessary sewer upgrades and repairs.

After additional inspection and discussion with the project contractor, the originally proposed closure will have to be expanded for safety concerns.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time. The updated plan for South River Road is as follows:

April 22 – May 5, 2019

There will be single-lane traffic allowed in work zone during the daytime hours Monday – Friday with traffic control present.

May 6 – Until Project End

Complete Road Closure

Location of Project

600 block of South River Road (west of the Heard County Water Authority Sewage Treatment Plant) to 800 block of South River Road (east of Sioux River Drive)

Notice to Residents

If your physical address is between 25 to 607 South River Road you may continue to use the Franklin Parkway entrance.

If your physical address is between 797 to the end of South River Road you may use the Doc Fisher Road entrance.
