(Orlando, FL) — Heard County Braves senior offensive lineman Jake Edwards is in Orlando, FL this week practicing for the 8th Annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, an All-Star football game showcasing over 80 of the top high school seniors in the country.

The all-star game, taking place at the Citrus Bowl tomorrow at 5:00 p.m., has featured NFL pros such as Cam Newton, Carlos Dunlap and Dez Bryant, among others before they were collegiate and later professional stars.

The game has evolved over the past few seasons to include a week’s worth of activities including multiple youth All-American Teams in a variety of age brackets, high school underclassmen showcases, combines, coaching clinics, conventions, tournaments, and, of course, the Senior All-American game itself.

The best high school football players in the country meet for bragging rights, pride, and to show off their talents on a national stage.

The invite to the big game follows up the many accolades that Jake has received over the past few weeks including being named first team all state in AA by both the AJC and the Georgia Sportswriters Association as well as first team all Region 5-AA.

Jake (6’4″ and 290 pounds) committed to the University of Georgia last summer and is only the second lineman in Heard County history to sign a D-1 scholarship. Nick Wilkerson signed with the Duke Blue Devils in the late 1990′s.
