(Franklin) — On Saturday, May 10, the members of the James Stewart Chapter NSDAR of Franklin installed new officers for the 2014-2016 administration.

Carla James Brown was elected as the new incoming Regent. Regent Brown’s officers are Mary Lane, Vice-Regent; Hollis Crockett, Chaplain; Beverly Baker, Secretary; Selmah Bowen, Treasurer; Bonnie Baker, Registrar; Marifaythe Whitley, Historian; Paige Harrod, Librarian.

The members were delighted to have a special guest from the General Daniel Newnan DAR Chapter in Newnan, Mrs. Brenda Davison Jessel.  Mrs. Jessel is the Chaplain for the Georgia State Society NSDAR.

Mrs. Jessel presided over the Installation of Officers.  She delivered a poignant message to each of the new officers as they begin their responsibilities in the Brown Administration. After the installation ceremony, Mrs. Jessel presented each new officer a beautiful pink rose.

After the Installation of Offices, the occasion was highlighted by a catered luncheon by Beverly Cotton and Ashley Handt, daughter and granddaughter of member Marifaythe Whitley.  The room was beautifully decorated with silver teapots full of roses, elegant tablecloths, and fine china and glassware.
