James Stewart Chapter NSDAR Announces 2013 Good Citizen Award Winner

The James Stewart Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce that Corey Freeman has been selected as the DAR Good Citizen Award Recipient for the Heard County Class of 2013.  Corey is the son of Skip and Nicole Freeman of Franklin, GA.

The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the following qualities:

Dependability (which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality)

Service (which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others)

Leadership (which includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility)

Patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation) to an outstanding degree.

The teachers nominated students for this award, but the students in the class of 2013 selected the winner.  Each chapter in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is allowed to honor one student each year from their community.

The James Stewart Chapter is pleased to submit Corey’s name as our Class of 2013 winner.  We would like to thank Jennifer Jones, counselor at Heard High School, and Paige Harrod, Chairman of the James Stewart Chapter DAR Good Citizen Committee, for their help.
