James Stewart Chapter NSDAR Announces Class of 2018 DAR Good Citizen

(Franklin, GA) — The James Stewart Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce that Eli Caldwell has been selected as the DAR Good Citizen Award Recipient by the Heard County Class of 2018.

Eli is the son of Tim and Robbie Caldwell of Bowdon, GA.

The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the following qualities: Dependability (which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality); Service (which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others); Leadership (which includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility); and Patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation) to an outstanding degree.

Eli’s peers, the students in the Heard High Class of 2018, selected him for this award.

As a senior, Eli stays busy taking classes at Heard High, serving as the Vice President of the senior class and as the Band Captain of the Marching Braves.

He was this year’s Homecoming King and has been nominated for the Georgia Positive Athlete Award.

Eli’s favorite academic subject is math but his love is music.

He has an ear for music and plays the piano, the guitar, the drums, the tuba, and any other instrument he decides to play.

Eli plans to be a music teacher and has been accepted to Point University where he will major in music education.

He plans to get his masters from the University of West Georgia after graduating from Point. Eli looks forward to working with the youth of the future.

He is excited about working with summer camps in the future.“If somebody doesn’t have a friend,” he shared his solution, “why can’t you be his friend?” This simple statement makes it easy to see why his classmates chose him as their 2018 Good Citizen. Eli is on track to graduate with honors.

Each chapter in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is allowed to honor one student from each local high school each year.

We are so pleased to be able to honor Eli Caldwell this year as the James Stewart Chapter Class of 2018 DAR Good Citizen Award winner from Heard High School.

As our winner he will receive a certificate, a pin, and a scholarship from the James Stewart Chapter. We would like to thank Mrs. Becky Roberts, counselor at Heard High School for her help in making this award possible.
