(Franklin) — The James Stewart Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce that Cody Norris has been selected as the DAR Good Citizen Award Recipient by the Heard County Class of 2015.

Cody is the son of Allen Norris and Carolyn Olinger, both of Franklin, GA.

The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the following qualities: Dependability (which includes truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality); Service (which includes cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others); Leadership (which includes personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility); and Patriotism (which includes unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation) to an outstanding degree.

Cody’s peers, the students in the Heard High Class of 2015, chose him for this award. As a senior, Cody is busy taking advanced classes, applying for college, and working diligently for the 4-H Clubs of Georgia.

Each chapter in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is allowed to honor one student each year from their community.

We are so pleased to be able to honor Cody Norris this year as the James Stewart Chapter 2015 DAR Good Citizen Award winner from Heard High School.

We would like to thank Mrs. Becky Roberts, counselor at Heard High School, and Paige Harrod, Chairman of the James Stewart Chapter DAR Good Citizen Committee, for their help in making this award possible.
