(Franklin, GA) — The James Stewart Chapter is pleased to announce that Tracey Gay Hunt was recently installed as Chapter Secretary. Tracey will take this interim position until May when the chapter will install their new board for 2020-2022.

A native of Heard County, Tracey has been enthusiastic about expanding the chapter goals increasing public awareness of American History and Patriotism with our youth and in the community.

Chapter members are excited about the new ideas she has brought in the past few months.

Tracey researched her family tree for many years but finally joined under her Revolutionary War Patriot, Joshua Gay. She continues to research Joshua’s service during the founding of our great country and share her findings with members and her history class at Centralhatchee Elementary School.

The NSDAR will celebrate 130 years of service this October.

Membership is open to all women 18 years or older that can prove direct lineal descent from a soldier or patriot of the Revolutionary War.

Being a service organization, most of our activities are centered in Heard County. Chapter members are always available to help you find your patriot.

Be looking for details on our March 14th meeting. We will be featuring “Barbie from Around the World.”

Please consider joining us for this fun and educational program and plan to bring your daughters to see these unique dolls that was such a big part of our childhood and culture.
