(Franklin) — The James Stewart Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to welcome four new members into the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and into our chapter.

Mary Wirth was verified by the National Society on May 5th, Sharon Denney Frost and Pam Denney Rogers were both verified by the National Society on August 5th and Margaret Adams was verified by the National Society on October 5th.

Once these ladies received their National membership number, they were formally inducted into the James Stewart Chapter.

Pam and Sharon joined under the service of their fifth great-grandfather Samuel Gladney, a resident of South Carolina who furnished supplies to the troops and fought as a revolutionary soldier under Captain Edward Martin and Colonel Richard Winn.

Mary joined under the service of her fifth great-grandfather John Annin, a resident of New Jersey who assisted in establishing  American Independence while serving as  a member of the Committee of Correspondence, as documented in the Minutes of the Provincial Congress and the Council of Safety of the state of New Jersey.

Margaret joined under her great-great grandfather Jones Pearson, a resident of North Carolina who served as a soldier in Colonel Elijah Clarke’s regiment and received two land grants in Georgia for his service.

Members of the James Stewart Chapter are currently working with six ladies interested in joining the DAR, assisting them in finding their ancestors and guiding them through the application process.

We would like to invite anyone who is interested in learning more about the DAR or about how to look for their patriotic ancestor to come to a meeting, talk to one of our members,  or contact us at info@jamesstewartchapterdar.org.
