Kiwanis Bowl: Week 1 Preview

The Kiwanis Bowl is once again upon us and for the first time Heard County is going to play host to first round playoff action. With games to be played at Staples Stadium on the campus of Heard County High School the county will host the following schedule on October 29th:

10:00 A.M. 7-8 year olds Division B
11:30 A.M. 7-8 year olds Division A
1:00 P.M. 9-10 year olds Division A
2:30 P.M. 9-10 year olds Division A
4:00 P.M. 9-10 year olds Division D
5:30 P.M. 11-12 year olds Division C

(7/8 Braves Coach Dean): will play Saturday October 29th at Staples Stadium / Heard County High School in the 11:30 A.M. time slot. They will be facing the Trojan Gold team from Carrollton. If they win, they will advance to the title game which will be held at UWG on Nov 5th @ 10 A.M. These Braves have earned a spot in the A Division and look to continue their undefeated season.

(7/8 Braves Coach Marsh): will play Saturday October 29th at Staples Stadium / Heard County High School in opening action at 10:00 A.M. They will be taking on the Bremen White team. If they win, they will advance to semi-final action to be held on November 5th at Central High School. Coach Marsh’s team is competing in the B Division.

(9/10 Braves Coach Yates): will play Saturday October 29th at Staples Stadium / Heard County High School @ 1:00 P.M. The Trojan Gold team is on the schedule for them in the afternoon action. If they win, they will advance to semi-final action hosted by Haralson County High School on November 5th. These Braves are looking to continue their undefeated season with a Division A championship.

(9/10 Braves Coach Owens): will play Saturday October 29th at Staples Stadium / Heard County High School @ 4:00 P.M. The Braves are scheduled to duel with the Carroll County White team in the opening round of Division D action. If they win, they will advance to semi-final play on November 5th at Central High School.

(11/12 Braves Coach Head): this is the only Heard County team not playing in Heard County in this year’s Kiwanis Bowl as they have earned a first round bye. They are scheduled to open up Division C play on November 5th at the University of West Georgia in semi-final action. These Braves are awaiting the winner between the Carroll County Lions and the Tallapoosa Red Devils. The Braves have not faced the Lions this year but they defeated Tallapoosa 44-22 back in week 3 of the season. If they win the semi-final game, they will advance to the championship game to be held at Grisham Stadium / Carrollton High School on November 12th.
