The Lady Braves (7-6) extended their winning streak to five games Saturday night in Franklin where they easily handled the Manchester Lady Angels 62-46.
Senior Jasmine Cook and Junior Jemeka Parks combined for 39 points to lead the way offensively, Cook with 20 and Parks with 19.
Coach William’s squad controlled the game throughout leading by nine at the half and 17 heading to the fourth quarter. Other scorers included Shemeka Parks with eight including a three pointer, Tanisha Johnson with four, and Khila Bradfield with three.
Deaudra Copeland led the Lady Angels with 26.
In the boys game, the Blue Devils showed exactly why they are currently the top ranked team in the state of Georgia in Class AA as they dominated the Braves all night long winning handily 86-48.
The Braves did manage a strong run briefly in the second quarter to cut the lead to 10 but the athleticism and depth of the Devils was too much for Coach Phillip Manning and the young Braves to overcome.
Elijah Toney continued his strong play leading the scoring with 12. Deron Swint also finished in double figures with 10.
The Braves will be back at home Tuesday night for a non-region clashes with Whitewater (4B-AAAAA).
