(Franklin) — After facing a barrage of state ranked opponents and larger schools this season the Lady Braves finally got a break Thursday in their first region game with the Chattahoochee County Panthers.

The Lady Braves dominated from start to finish winning 18-2 in game called after three innings.

Hannah Sanders hit her third homerun in two days for the Braves and Johanna Beyer hit the first homer of her career to lead the way.

Several players were able to experiment at different positions in the blow-out including Alexis Raines seeing action behind the plate and senior shortstop Cali Harrod taking the mound as the pitcher.

The Lady Braves will face a much more difficult challenge when they travel to Bowdon next Tuesday (5:00 first pitch) for their second region 5-AA game. The Red Devils dropped a 1-0 decision to Bremen Thursday in another very important Region 5-AA game.

The Braves will also host Pike County Wednesday (6:00 following the JV) before traveling to Temple (5:00) on Thursday.

The girls have just six games remaining on the schedule before region playoffs get underway.
