Lady Braves drop first game; JV edges Carrollton 1-0

Freshman Johanna Beyer

The Lady Braves 10-game winning streak came to a halt with a 10-2 loss to the Carrollton Trojans Wednesday at home.

The Trojans took advantage of some defensive miscues by the Lady Braves early to jump out to a 9-0 lead after just two innings.

The Lady Braves will look to rebound Thursday afternoon when they travel to Bowdon for their first Region 5-AA match-up.

The news was not all bad, however, as prior to the varsity game, the JV Lady Braves won an exciting 1-0 tilt over the Trojans.

Freshman Sarah Schofield pitched a shut-out on the mound while fellow freshman Johanna Beyer provided all of the offense with her second home run of the season.
