Lady Braves hold on to defeat Lagrange 45-41

(Franklin, GA) — The Lady Braves defeated another Class AAAA opponent Tuesday night in Franklin to move to 2-0 on the young season.

Following up on a solid win at Central Saturday, the Lady Braves knocked off Lagrange 45-41 in the home opener of the regular season.

Junior Zekylah Boyd led the way with 14 points and came up with a big defensive steal with just 11.7 seconds to play in the game to secure the victory.

Senior Sophia Long also had another big night scoring 13 including six from the charity stripe the last of which put the game out of reach for the Grangers.

The Lady Braves started the game with some stingy defense and led the Grangers 11-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Heard led by as many as 16 late in the first half and 10 at the end of the third quarter (35-25) before the Grangers fought back in the fourth to make it close.

Freshman Jayden Boykin scored six in the game while Briana Labaff and Mykhia Echols each had five.

The Lady Braves (2-0) return to their homecourt at HCHS this Friday when they will host the Hampton Hornets (0-2), another team from Class AAAA.
