(Franklin) — After playing almost exclusively on the road this season, the Lady Braves softball team will play at home for the next three days where they will host Northgate, Callaway, and Chattahoochee County.

The Lady Braves have only played one of their first 19 games at Heard High School but will be at home for six of the last nine games on the regular season schedule.

Today’s game versus Northgate (6:00) will be a rematch against the powerhouse Vikings from Region 4-AAAAA. The Lady Braves will look to avenge one of their two regular season losses from last year, a 5-4 loss to the Vikings played at Northgate.

One of the top players for Northgate is Ebonee Echols, daughter of former Braves baseball star Charles Echols.

After a heart-breaking loss to East Coweta last week , the Lady Braves bounced back for two big wins at the Trojan Slam tournament on Friday where they defeated Allatoona 4-2 in extra innings and Flowery Branch 7-3.

In the Allatoona Game, Cali Harrod had two homers, one a long bomb and another of the inside the park variety. Anna Shelnutt doubled home the game winning run during the international tie-breaker.

Things were a little tougher on Saturday as the Lady Braves dropped two games by one run each to two AAAAAA schools, Harrison and Hillgrove.

The JV Lady Braves will kick off the doubleheader with Northgate at 4:30 today after a huge 10-0 shutout at Carrollton Monday afternoon.
