Lady Braves move to 2-0 in Region 5-AA; JV Lady Braves dominate

(Franklin) — The Lady Braves moved to 2-0 in Region 5-AA play Friday night at Heard High School where they knocked off the visiting Temple Lady Tigers 32-19.

Leading the way in scoring for the Lady Brave was senior Cali Harrod with eight and not far behind were Whitney Emory and Kimberly Harris who each had six. The six points was a career high for Harris, a sophomore forward.

The boy’s team put forth a solid effort but fell 54-44. Both teams will be in action at home once again tonight as they host the Haralson County Rebels (Girls 6:00/Boys 7:30).

In JV girls action, thanks primarily to an awesome defensive effort, the JV Lady Braves pulled off a lopsided win over the Tigers shutting them out 34-0.

Alexis Nelms led the JV scoring with 12 followed by Hannah Stephens with eight. Other scorers included Kimberly Harris with six , and Ally Harris with four.
